A massive congratulations to all of the Neath-Afan gymnasts who competed in the West Wales Level 6 and 5 last weekend!

Almost all gymnasts came away with a medal or ribbon, and they really portrayed Neath-Afan’s excellent standard!

In this competition, the top 5 gymnasts in each category go through to represent West Wales at the Welsh Finals (4 in the team, and 1 reserve)

Level 5

Age 9Elsie Taylor placed 3rd overall. Team mate, Ruby Hill, placed 5th overall, after making a last minute change from Level 6!

Age 10/11Krysti Sleep placed 4th overall, with Cerys Williams taking the Bronze Medal… and Adara George is the new West Wales Level 5 Champion for age 10/11!

The 3 are also Team Champions!

Age 12+Cerys Lane took 4th place, with Demi Whalley in the Bronze Medal position… and Emma Seaward is the new joint West Wales Level 5 Champion for age 12+!

These girls are now also Team Champions!

All of our gymnasts entered in the Level 5 competition were selected for the West Wales Team! What an amazing achievement!

Level 6

Age 8Madison Phillips is our new West Wales Level 6 Champion for age 8, with Hallie Colston taking the 6th place ribbon overall! Madison will now go through to Welsh Finals as part of the West Wales Team.

Our 8 year old team are also Team Champions!

Age 9Poppy Curtis took the 5th place ribbon overall, so will now go to Welsh Finals as the West Wales Age 9 Reserve!

Our 9 year old team also took Team Bronze!

Age 10/11 Amy Duffin is our new West Wales Level 6 Champion for age 10/11, with team mates Isabella Thorn and Ffion Lightfoot placing 5th and 6th! Amy will now compete for West Wales at the Welsh Finals with Bella as reserve!

Our Emerald Team took the Team Bronze, and our Lime Team are now the Team Champions!

In Short, Neath-Afan now has:

12 Gymnasts going through to Welsh Finals as the West Wales Team;

4 Overall Champions;

4 Team Champions;

3 Overall Bronze Medalists;

2 Team Bronze Medals;

7 Overall 4th-6th Ribbons, and;

56 Individual Apparatus Ribbons!
